Colorado Takes Off!
An exhibition celebrating 100 years of flight in the Centennial State.

The state of Colorado has been instrumental in innovation and the growth of the aerospace industry. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Centennial State’s first airplane flight, Chuck Stout, pilot and subject matter expert for an aviation training company, has created a traveling museum exhibit. If you live in Colorado or are planning a trip to the area anytime soon, I highly recommend a visit.

Learn about the people and events in Colorado’s history that helped shape the aerospace industry

  • The Boulder boy who became one of the original seven Mercury astronauts
  • The cowboy from Sterling who became America’s
    first flying ace
  • The barnstorming pilot who started the first aeronautical charting industry
  • The University of Colorado graduate who almost made it to moon aboard Apollo 13
  • The introduction of the first Flight for Life air ambulance service in 1972
  • The Englewood film company that became a major airplane manufacturer

Celebrating 100 years of flight in the Centennial State will be on exhibit at Tamarac Square until May 30, 2010 (see details and photos below). Admission is Free. The exhibit will move to another location in June. Sorry, because each exhibit location is in close proximity to each other, the museums forbid prior advertisement. However, an announcement will be forthcoming when the next location opens.
